Sophie Marshall - interview

Next up in the hot seat is illustrator Sophie Marshall who has been creating concept art for the Supremacy universe. You can find out more about her here:

1 What 5 songs would you put into your life’s soundtrack?

  1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Theme - Nerf Herder. Buffy was a big part of my childhood, I watched every episode religiously and brought everything I could afford from the VHS boxsets to the Buffy backpack and jewellery sets.

  2. Turning Page - Sleeping At Last. This is one of my favourite songs from the Twilight soundtrack. I listened to this song a lot when I first started dating my now husband and I even walked down the isle to the instrumental version on our wedding day.

  3. Nuvole Bianche - Ludovico Einaudi. A go to song I listen to, to relax and reflect.

  4. Stereo Love - Edward Maya. Myself and my bestie listened to this a lot when at university, it reminds me of good times.

  5. From Now On - The Greatest Showman. When I watched this film I immediately fell in love with this song and the choreography; it was our first dance song as a married couple.

2 During a zombie apocalypse would you hunker down or try to find help?

If I've learnt anything from watching TV shows and playing zombies games, it's to never stay in one place. I'd make sure I had a backpack of resources and a machete, and brave the world.

3 If you could have starred in any film, what would it be?

Toy Story: it would be cool to see what I look like as an animated character/toy and also to experience living in a world from a toy's perspective.

4 If you went trick or treating as a child, did you actually have a trick prepared? If so, what was it?

I wasn't one for tricks but I did assist my dad. He hid in the garden and when children came to our house, I'd be waiting to answer the door and he'd jump out and scare them!

5 If aliens came to Earth, would they come in peace?

I'd like to think so but I'm scarred from watching Mars Attacks as a child.

6 What does the future hold for you?

Travelling to new places and sharing many more happy memories with my family and friends. I've also always seen myself producing book illustrations in a nice, cosy home setting, where I could start a family but also do the thing I love.
